Thelma Roberta McIntosh, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, peacefully passed away on December 28, 2025, on her 90th birthday. She was born on December 28, 1935, in Whittier, California, to Robert Harvey Burner and Eunice Fawson Burner.

Roberta was married to Wayne McIntosh on January 5, 1954, in Long Beach, California. Their first child, Robert Wayne (Bobby) was born on September 28, 1955, but died shortly after on December 31, 1955. Then soon followed other children; Vicki, Julie, Stephen and Billy and together they created a loving home for their four children. She was a loving and devoted mother, cherished by her children, 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a constant source of joy in her life.

A gifted musician, Roberta had a deep passion for music, particularly the violin, and enjoyed singing in various choral groups. She graduated from Jordan High School in Long Beach and years later went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from the University of California, Fullerton. One highlight of her music career was a music tour in Europe where she was able to perform in some of the most prestigious music halls in the world.

Roberta was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many capacities for years. One of her favorite callings was as Relief Society President in Alpine, California. She also enjoyed her time serving as a temple worker in the San Diego Temple, as well as serving as a missionary with her husband Wayne in the Phoenix Mesa, Arizona area. In addition to her church service, she loved engaging in family history work, which was a true passion of hers. In Mesa, she was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and enjoyed meeting with them regularly.

Throughout her life, Roberta and her family enjoyed many vacations at Bass Lake, the Salton Sea, and traveling up the northern coast of California to Canada, where they created lasting memories camping, fishing, and water skiing together. She had a flair for creativity, sewing clothes and costumes for herself, her children and grandchildren and making quilts and knitting slippers for her family, some of which she generously donated to local hospitals. Handmade dolls were also among her treasured creations. Even as her eyesight was failing, she was able to crochet baby blankets for three of her great-great-grandchildren that were born in the last 6 months of her life. An avid reader and puzzle enthusiast, she also recently discovered a love for watercolor painting alongside her husband, Wayne.

For many years, Roberta worked as an office assistant for Boeing and Brigham Young University, leaving a positive impact on her colleagues and those around her.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, brother Jerry, four children, Bobby, Stephen, Julie and Bill, and grandson Jason Hudson. Roberta is survived by her loving husband Wayne McIntosh; daughter Vicki Wares (Mike); Sister Carol Nicks; grandchildren; Shannon Teare (Cody), Brooke Stokes (Ryan), Alisa Caldwell (Spencer), Jared Wares, Janeen Hudson, Joesph McIntosh, Brandon McIntosh, Evan McIntosh, Tiffany Webster (Daniel), Stephen McIntosh (Tricia), Tamara Hart (Gordon), and numerous other great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Her vibrant spirit, unwavering faith throughout many trials, and love and dedication to her family will be profoundly missed but will forever live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. God be with you till we meet again. We love and will miss you so very much!!!
