John Robert Klepinger

John Robert Klepinger (Jack) was born April 30, 1929, in Youngstown, Ohio. He was the youngest of five children born to Harry and Neva Klepinger. Jack passed away from natural causes on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, in Mesa, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Klepinger in 2007.

Jack is survived by his sons, Bob (Leann), Jay (Tonya); daughters, Terry Reed (Mark) and Trudy Woolf (Paul); sister, Joan Chitiea; twin brother, Bill Klepinger; and brother-in-law, Hollis Webb. Jack and Yvonne's posterity includes 21 grandchildren and their 46th great-grandchild is due in October.

Jack graduated from Columbiana High in 1947 and Ohio State University in 1952, enlisting in the ROTC along the way. Shortly thereafter he reported as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force to McConnell AFB, Kansas. He soon met his future bride, Yvonne Webb, and they were married December 6, 1953.

His career as an Officer in Support Services led to tours of duty in Korea and later, Vietnam. Jack's family accompanied him to assignments in Scotland, the Philippines and various stateside bases. He eventually retired as a Captain at Williams AFB after twenty years of patriotic service.

Jack made countless friends who enjoyed his positivity, sense of humor and zest for life. He always believed in treating others with dignity, honor, and respect. He loved to serve and minister to others by lifting their spirits with a warm handshake. Jack frequently encouraged others to smile. If you were lucky, he'd play a happy tune or two on his harmonica. In whatever he was assigned, he was reliable and believed in performing a “job well done.”

As a convert member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jack had a deep faith in God and a humble, grateful heart toward his Savior, Jesus Christ. He loved his family deeply and was happiest when he was in their midst.

The Klepinger family would like to express gratitude to the staff at Acoya Mesa, Hospice of the Valley and Horizon Funeral Care for assisting us at this tender time. A private memorial service will be held at a later date, and his remains will rest at the Mesa City Cemetery beside his beloved eternal companion.
