Patricia Dawn Davis Steckly, lovingly known as Pat, age 85, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025. Pat was born on December 10, 1940, in Eddyville, Iowa, to Otto and Lillian Davis, who instilled in her the values of hard work, kindness, and family that she carried throughout her life.
Pat married Jerry Stotts in September 1957. They later divorced. Pat then married Larry Steckly in May of 1968 and were together until his passing in 1993.
Pat is survived by her children: Nick Stotts of North Carolina; Brenda Beckley (Mike Rouse) of Iowa; and Lorrie Tenney (Richard Tenney) of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Steckly, and her daughter, Stacy Coons. Pat’s greatest joy was her family, and she took immense pride in being a grandmother to eleven grandchildren: Tammy, Jamie, Ashley, Stephanie, Rick, Chelsea, Christopher, Dylan, Blake, Alex, and Emily; as well as a great-grandmother to fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pat is also survived by her siblings: Larry Davis (Peggy) of Texas, Phil Davis (Bonnie) of California, and Dottie Uskoski (Don) of Idaho; sister-in-law Donna Miller (Lamar) of Arizona, and former daughter-in-law Beverly Stotts of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Roger Davis.
For more than 20 years, Pat owned and operated her own hair salon, a career that reflected her creativity, dedication, and genuine love for people. Her salon was more than a place of business, it was a place of friendship, laughter, and trust, where she built lifelong relationships with her “ladies.” After retiring, Pat embraced her artistic side, spending time painting and sharing her creative talents with those around her.
Pat loved the outdoors and treasured time spent camping with her children and grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter, stories, and togetherness. These moments were among her most cherished.
A devoted member of Hi-Way Baptist Church for 35 years, Pat served faithfully on the financial committee, facilitated and participated in the church’s grief share group, and welcomed others as a greeter. Her infectious smile and gentle hug were a comforting and familiar presence, offering warmth and kindness to everyone she met on Sunday mornings.
Pat will be remembered for her loving heart, quiet strength, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in all who knew her.
