Steven Wayne Spaulding
Steven Wayne Spaulding, age 68, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 5th, 2024 at Hospice of the Valley Lund Family Home in Gilbert, Arizona.
He was born November 2nd, 1955 in Denver, Colorado to William Eugene Spaulding and Sandra Joy Snyder. He lived in Colorado until the family moved to California in November of 1972. Steve was a 1973 graduate of Newbury Park High School. He became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints around this time and continued to be an active member of the church throughout his life.
He joined the Army in 1977, serving as a Military Police Officer. While stationed in Alaska, he met his future wife, Kimberly, on a blind date and they were married May 21st, 1979. After his service in the Military he worked various jobs until becoming an aviation mechanic in the early 1990's. Steve loved airplanes from a young age and felt so blessed to have a career in aviation for most of his life. He enjoyed shooting, hunting and watching football-especially his favorite team, the Denver Broncos.
Steve is survived by his wife, Kimberly Spaulding, his daughters, April Gaynor, Donna Bourne and husband Scott, Denise Spaulding, Staci Darlington and husband Chase, his son Kyle Spaulding and wife Katie, 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons, his brother Mark Spaulding and wife Dawn and their children, Richard, Katy and Krissy and his step siblings, Denise Vitullo and husband Mike, Doug Obrecht and wife Melissa, and Walter Obrecht and wife Michelle and all their children.
Steve was one of the kindest, friendliest, genuine and goofiest people you could possibly know. His positivity and optimism were constant and contagious. To know him was to love him. His passing leaves a void in so many hearts. We will always cherish the time we had with him and embrace the tears and laughter that come as our memories of him live on.
