In Loving Memory of Sandra “Sandy” Kay Jean
December 28, 1942 – August 5, 2025
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Sandra “Sandy” Kay Jean (née Alumbaugh) on August 5, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona. Sandy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and laughter touched many lives.
Born on December 28, 1942, in Peoria, Illinois, Sandy grew up in Arthur, Illinois. She always carried her hometown close to her heart and cherished every return visit, even after making Arizona her home for most of her life. She found joy in being outdoors—whether breathing the mountain air, feeling the ocean breeze, or spending a quiet afternoon on the water. For Sandy, it was never about the destination but the simple moments along the way.
At home, she had a gift for making every space welcoming. With her love of decorating, each season and holiday became a celebration. She enjoyed long phone calls with friends, sharing everyday stories, and always looked forward to visits with those she loved most. Her lifelong friend, Phyllis Kaufman of Arthur, shared countless treasured memories by her side.
Sandy and her husband, Glenn Jerry Jean, were married for 64 years, a true testament to their devotion. She is also survived by her son, Rob, and her granddaughter, Codi, who was blessed with her grandmother’s steady love and guidance throughout her life. Her presence will be profoundly missed.
Sandy will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and her ability to make the ordinary feel special.
A private service will be held for the family. In place of flowers, the family invites you to honor Sandy by spending time outdoors, enjoying a day on the water, or sharing a heartfelt conversation with someone you love—just as she so often did.
