Marilyn Joan Cox
Marilyn Joan Cox was born on November 8, 1933 in Cerro Gordo, IL and was granted her angel wings on February 2, 2021 in Glendale, AZ. She spent her final years living with her niece Terri and nephew (in-law) Rob. Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband George, mother Iva Leone Mosser, father Lynn Albert Morville, brother Robert, sisters Beatrice and Shirley, step-sister Patricia and her beloved niece DeAnn. At a very early age, she met her sweetheart George Cox and they were married on January 2, 1954 in Decatur, IL. They lived in Fairview Park where George worked for Park Services. While in Decatur, Marilyn worked as a sales representative at Woolworth. During those years, Marilyn and George often enjoyed having their niece Terri come stay with them. After retirement, Marilyn and George moved to Klamath Falls, OR where they lived with their two cats, Mike and Ike. After George passed away in 2003, Marilyn would take extended vacations to Arizona to visit her sister Lynnette and niece Terri. In 2011, she made the decision to move from Klamath Falls to Glendale, where she lived with her niece Terri and nephew (in-law) Rob until her final days. Marilyn loved to travel, especially taking cruises and riding roller coasters at Disneyland with Terri, Rob, Jacob, Lynnette, Timothy (Lynnette’s husband) and their children Ethan, Abigail and Aiden. Marilyn enjoyed shopping, crossword puzzles, going out to eat at restaurants, watching movies on Lifetime, and spending time with her siblings, nieces, and nephews. Marilyn was such a huge part of the lives of her great-great niece and nephews that at an early age they began calling her Grandma-Auntie. One of Marilyn’s favorite vacations in recent years was traveling to Beaverton, OR with a group of nieces and nephews to visit her great niece Amanda and Amanda’s family. Marilyn was an avid church goer and she spent her last years as a proud member of North Phoenix Baptist Church, where she attended every Sunday with her great-nephew Jacob, his fiancé Stephanie, and her son Adriel. Marilyn is survived by her sister Lynnette Shamel, brother Larry Morville, half-brothers Roger & Chuck, half-sister Terri Lynn, step brother Duane, Nieces Terri Pajewski, Debra Stein, Anna, Elizabeth, Fallon (Morville), nephews James Spicer, Michael Spicer, Steve, Brian, Chris, Darrin (Morville), her great-nieces Lynnette Patrick , Amanda Villegas, Jessica Bailey, Sara Priebe, Jaelyn, Lauren (Spicer), her great-nephews Jacob Pajewski, Daniel Stein, Jesse, Dylan, Tommy, Tyler, Noah, Maverick (Spicer). Marilyn is also survived by a host of great-great nieces and nephews; Ethan, Abigail, Aiden, Adriel, Monica, Tyler, Gianna, Gavin, Ahtari, Adorabella , Seth, Aven, Makayla, Braylon, Trenton, Payson, Adayla, Zoe, Cash, Jaxon, Bradley, Russell, Cameron, Journey, London, Ellorey, Jocelynn and many many more great-great nieces and nephews on the Morville side.
