Gregory Scott Johnson

Gregory Scott Johnson, 54 of Casa Grande, Arizona passed away on August 15, 2025 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born on November 14, 1970 in Two Harbors, Minnesota, Greg was the son of Brad & Kay Johnson, Mesa, Arizona. He graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1989 and completed a Bachelors Degree from Augsburg University in 1995 and continued his studies to complete an MBA.

Greg’s passion was hockey. He was a multi-year letterwinner in high school and continued to play at Augsburg. At the time of his death, Greg was playing adult league hockey in the Greater Phoenix area. Greg also gave back to the sport he loved as an on-ice official. Greg enjoyed officiating and was well respected by his teammates and fellow officials.

Greg was on faculty at Florence High School, Florence, Arizona and will be missed by his students and the Gopher community.

He is survived by his children, Nick and Ariana of Phoenix, Arizona; his former spouse and mother of his children Ana Lia Johnson, Phoenix, Arizona; his brother Steve (Sherri) Johnson, Florence Arizona; and cousins Neil (Carol) Fletcher, Forest Lake, Minnesota and Vicki (Jerry) Janssen, Barnesville, MN.

Greg was preceded in death by grandparents, Norville and Mildred Fletcher; Einar and Elizabeth Johnson; his uncle and aunt Niles and Jean Fletcher.

A Celebration of Greg’s life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, September 13, at Florence High School with a luncheon to follow.
