Gary Wayne Shirley

1952-2025

Gary Wayne Shirley was born on August 13, 1952 in Okalona, MS, to Earl and Willie Shirley.

Gary graduated from Auburn High School in 1970, and immediately enlisted in The United States Marine Corps, where he served in for 8 1/2 years.

Gary was employed by Sundstrand Corp. both in Rockford, IL and Phoenix , Az as an Aerospace Quality Engineer, until his retirement.

His passions were cooking, trips to the casino, and spending time with the loves of his life; his granddaughters, Brooklyn and Brielle.

Gary is survived by his wife Madeline, children Pamela (Tim) Moore, Robert Shirley, Jennifer (Joseph) Burks, granddaughters Brooklyn and Brielle, brother in law, Angelo ( Nick) Scarpitta, sister Rhoda Eulene Foster, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Earl and Willie, brothers Edwin Eugene (Betty), James Larry (Barbara), sisters Wilbalean (LJ) Burleson, and Carolyn Sutliff.

Gary is greatly missed by his dogs, Chico and Ollie.
