Francine Szekely passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on September 11, 1952, she lived a life filled with love, creativity, and care for those around her.
Francine was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, auntie, cousin, and friend. She will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity, and the many ways she touched the lives of her family and friends.
She had a passion for sewing and quilting, creating pieces that will be cherished for years to come. Francine also enjoyed sharing good meals and treats with loved ones and connecting with others through online games, where she built friendships that spanned both time and distance.
Her family will honor her memory at celebrations of life to be held in both Arizona and Illinois at later dates. Robin will reach out to coordinate.
Francine’s spirit of kindness and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She is already missed so much.

I will always miss my friend. She was the kindest and so sweet. I'll miss you Frannie.
My heart will always ache for my friend. I am not sure God has ever put a kinder person on earth. I had to have a very minor procedure done that I could have drove to by myself. Just skin cancer. Frannie would have none of that. She drove me to my appointment, waited until I was done and took me out for ice cream after. I will never forget our lunches at Lombardis, the drive in a blizzard to get to our friend up in Northern Ohio, her version of gravy..lol and the cookie train. Rest in peace sweet friend.
My dearest Frannie, I was blessed to have you in my life as my friend. The ache in my heart is real, but so is the peace I feel knowing your suffering is over. I'll forever treasure our conversations and the wonderful memories we made. You were such an amazing friend, and I'll miss you.
