Derek Michael Anderson

In loving memory of Derek Michael Anderson, age 49, who passed away peacefully with family by his side on August 30, 2025 after a brief illness. Derek was born on July 15, 1976 in Tucson, Arizona and resided in Mesa, Arizona. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Rebecca Anderson; sons Brady, Kegan, and Nicolas; parents Sandra Bialik (Jack) and Gerald Anderson (Kay); brothers Shaun Anderson (Megan) and Troy Anderson (Jayde) and a large extended family.

Derek grew up with a love for sports and was an all-around athlete playing baseball and football and was a standout competitive swimmer in his youth. He graduated from Mountain View High School and earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Exercise and Wellness from Arizona State University. Derek was an avid fan of Arizona’s and Detroit’s baseball and football teams, enjoyed spending time watching games, and playing fantasy sports and golf with family and friends. He especially enjoyed family vacations to Disneyland and Hawaii and loved spending time with his three family dogs.

A celebration of Derek’s life will be held later this year. The family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
