Clara Spaulding

Clara (Claire) Spaulding - nee Anzenberger - Age 86. Born November 10, 1937 in Brooklyn, raised in the Bronx (and proud of it!!), then moved to Ridgefield Park, NJ with her parents. She spent most of her life there before moving to Saddle Brook a few years ago.

Claire passed on Christmas Day (her favorite holiday!), while visiting her family in Arizona for the holidays. She is survived by: her son Robert (Bob) Spaulding and his wife Camille, her daughter Lisa Clarke and her husband Robert (Bob), her granddaughter Nicole Myers - nee Clarke - her husband Kelly and their children Rylan and Landon, her grandson Jonathan Clarke and his fiance Elisa Llamas. Also her niece and nephews: Lynn, Stephan and William, their families and her extended family.

She is predeceased by her parents Anna and Sebastian, her sister Erna and her brother William.

She retired 15 years ago, from Hackensack University Medical Center having worked there for almost 45 years. She started out as a switchboard operator (perfect voice for it!) when it was known as Hackensack Hospital (it had only 700 beds!) working her way through many departments. She made many longtime friends there and loved spending time with them, getting together for a movie and meals at diners and restaurants.

Some of her greatest pleasures were visiting her family in AZ and CA. Meeting her great grandsons and seeing Sedona, San Diego, the San Francisco area and of course Hawaii. She loved the Jersey Shore and visiting beaches wherever she traveled.

Mom loved to have a good time. She loved a good party and wanted nothing more than for her friends and family to raise a glass to her in celebration of a life well lived and wish her well on her journey.

We encourage you to post comments and especially stories that you might have of times spent with Mom, here and/or on her Facebook page.
