Samuel Reed


Msgt. Samuel "Lee" Reed, 74, passed piecefully at his residence in Chandler, AZ on 15 April 2020. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country honorably for 25 1/2 years.

Lee was born January 16, 1946 in Taylorsville, IL. In 1965 he joined the United States Air Force. He served in Vietnam and was stationed in various locations around the world to include Florida, Germany, Arizona, Wisconsin and Korea. He spent a large portion of his career as an aircraft supervisor for the A-10 Thunderbolt. His last duty assignment was as superintendent for one of the A-10 demo teams that traveled to air shows around the United States. He retired in February 1991.

He followed his wife Cynthia K. Reed who passed January 19, 2020. The cause of his death was not associated with COVID-19.

He is survived by his daughter Laura Register and his son Ken Reed; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

No services will be held at this time. At a later date his remains as well as those of his wife Cynthia will be transported to Barrancas national cemetery in Pensacola Florida for burial.
