James Marvin Jones

James Marvin Jones, 88, born August 31, 1931 in Marion, Indiana, died March 19, 2020 in Tempe, Arizona. Jim grew up in Iowa raising cows and enjoying farming. Due to health concerns, he moved to sunny Arizona where he raised his family and lived until his passing. However, he always proudly considered himself an Iowan! His yearly trips back to Iowa were something he always looked forward to. Jim loved a good practical joke, beating family and friends in a game of cribbage, and playing a round of golf.

Jim will be missed by all that knew and loved him including his immediate family, along with cousins, nieces, nephews from many places around the country, too many to list. They were all so very important to Jim for all of his years.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children, Joni (Joel) Sheldon, OK; Brad Jones, AZ; John (Kim) Jones, AZ; step-daughter, Cristie (John) Roach, UT. He had 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Jim is preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie; parents, Maurice and Hazel Jones; sister, Marge Lutz; brother, Robert Jones; son, Robert Jones; and stepson, Joe Hunsinger.

His family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of the Valley at Friendship Village for the loving care they gave to Jim. No memorial has been planned at this time.
