David Mark Horwitz


David Mark Horwitz passed away peacefully at home in Scottsdale, Arizona on October 13, 2019 surrounded by loving family.

He was born in Elyria, Ohio August 25, 1947 to his mother Lilian Horwitz and Charles Horwitz. He attended Elyria high school and graduated in 1965. At Arizona State he completed with a degree in political sciences.

He began his career with the Federal Election Commision in Washinton D.C. writing election law for federal elections. He authored two books on election laws for Arizona. He worked often for the Metzenbaum campaign in Ohio. David worked for the Trial Lawyers Association in Washington D.C. and in the 80's he was with the Phoenix Police Department as a political liasion. He enjoyed being a Lobbyist and political consultant for the Operating Engineers Local 428 in Arizona. Had been a board member of the Arizona Central Labor Counsel

He loved traveling, camping, fishing, football, and most of all baseball. He was fortunate enough to attend Diamond Backs games rarely missing a game. Remained a loyal fan of he Cleveland Indians and Browns. He loved life and was always willing to help anyone in need. Always the master of puns and one liners, he was quick witted and even charming. He had a very generous spirit and big heart making every day count.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Rebecca Horwitz Cottrell and his sister, Barbara Weiss in Cleveland, Ohio

Viewing services will be Saturday December 7, 2019 at Horizon Funeral Care.7510 East Main Street Mesa, Arizona 85207

There will be a celebration of life announced later in consideration of the holidays.
