On Monday, September 3, 2018, Gerald (Jerry) Garcia, loving father of three girls, passed away at age 72.
Jerry was born on October 1, 1945 in Denver, CO to Willy and Mary Garcia. He received his Cosmetologist license in 1966, and practiced hairdressing for 50 years both in Denver and Phoenix AZ,
On March 27, 1978, he married Connie. They raised three daughters, Shalise, Natalia and Tatiana. He was proud to have named the girls. He would always say “They have their mothers good looks, cause I still have mine!”
Jerry had a passion for all things Arts. He loved music, dancing, theatre, travel, movies, cooking, sewing/needle work and everything life had to offer. Most of all his name “Jerry Garcia” his claim to fame. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious laugh, and his fun, party spirit. He made friends everywhere he went, he never knew a stranger.
He is survived by his children, Shalise, Natalia, (Casey) and Tatiana (Richard). His grandchildren Danielle, Femi, Jameson, Tayden, Ethan and never last Cooper. His surviving brothers and sisters, Beverly, Tommy, Linda, Patrick, Maryann and Lori, along with hundreds of cousins, nieces, and nephews, forever friends, Connie, Tana and Yvonne.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 at the Horizon Funeral Care on Main Street in Mesa at 2 o’clock p.m. With a second Celebration of Life in Denver on September 29th.
