Susan Janice Bailey
Susan Janice Bailey, age 75, passed away on Saturday, December 4th from complications with COVID. Susan was born in March, 1946 in Kent, England. She grew up in Sittingbourne and studied art. She joined the LDS church at the age of 16 and she moved to Long Island, New York to work as a nanny. While in New York she met an Elder Richard Bailey from Ogden, Utah. She would later move to Salt Lake City where she would be a dental assistant. She would later marry Richard Bailey and be sealed to him at the Logan, Utah LDS Temple in May, 1967. They would be together through the good times and bad times for nearly 55 years. Susan was active in her church and served as Relief Society President and Young Women’s Leader. She enjoyed the Beatles and singing their songs, she was a voracious reader, she was a talented painter and artist as well as great at knitting and crocheting, and she loved all things British. She was also very proud of her Irish heritage. Susan Bailey is survived by her husband, Richard, her three children, Tammy (Lamont), Mindy (Scott), Matt (Licia), Kara (Craig), her grandchildren Meagan (Andrew), Nate (Jackie), Jordan (Catherine), Addyson (Blaine) Kaitlin (Clint), Ethan (Lauren) Rachel (Zach), Noah, Emma, Chloe, and her great-grandchildren Jude, Cohen, Vivienne, Ranger, Gracie, Afton, Westley, and Nora, as well as her three sisters in England: Joyce Jarret, Patricia Smith, and Sharon Stubberfield, as well as various other in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard Patrick Harmon and Phyllis Goodwin Rossiter as well as her two brothers Peter Rossiter and Adrian Rossiter. Susan Bailey’s funeral services will be held this Saturday, 12/11/21 at the LDS Monterey Chapel in Mesa, Arizona. The viewing will begin at 8:30 am. The services will begin at 10:00 am. The address for the chapel is 7145 E. Monterey Ave., Mesa, AZ 85209. She will be laid to rest at the Gilbert Memorial Park Cemetery and Funeral Home after the services.
