Robert George Pless


Robert George Pless passed away July 1st, 2021. He was 88 years old, born on September 17th, 1932, in Baltimore, Maryland, son of George Pless Jr. and Catherine Margaret (Gentry).

He is survived by his two sons, Robert A. Pless (Teri) of Birdsboro, PA and Randall E. Pless (Audrey) of Danville, IL; his four daughters, Seriynna K. Parcke, of Ramona, CA, Virginia L. Smart, of Arizona City, AZ, Marjorie L. Fradella (Jerry), of San Clemente, CA and Tamara L. Passey (Steven) of Mesa, AZ. Twenty-two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marjorie, his sister Catherine Cohen, and son Adam J. Pless.

Robert lived in Baltimore, Maryland, until he served in the Air Force for five years. On October 22nd, 1955, he married Marjorie L. Dernier in Brockton, Massachusetts, where they raised their seven children. Robert and Marjorie retired in Mesa, Arizona. He was an avid fisherman and loved to bowl, garden, play the piano, and sing. Bob received several awards and trophies for fishing and bowling and won a radio contest for his piano playing. Over the years, he achieved top salesman status with each of his employers. He excelled at communication skills and had an extraordinary sense of humor.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir with Marjorie. He served in many capacities, including as President of the Brockton Branch. He lived a full and honorable life serving his country, his church, his fellowman, and his wife and children.

Burial will be in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona following a private graveside service.
