Mischelle Richardson

May 24, 1938 - February 12, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear sweet Mom and “Gangam” at the age of 83. Mischelle passed away peacefully at home with her family in Surprise, Arizona, on Saturday, February 12, 2022.

Mischelle was born on May 24th, 1938 in Bakersfield, California to Ira J. Elliot and Nena Bolinas. From the very beginning she was a lover of animals and cared deeply for her pets, from her first dog Tippy, to her last dog Patchy. Mischelle would go on to care for many types of animals throughout her life and was known to many as the “Dog Whisperer.” She also developed a love for nature and spoke fondly of her childhood home of Mt. Hood, Oregon where she chased waterfalls.

In 1967, Mischelle was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints after struggling with the notion that her baby boy Larry Scott, who had recently passed, would not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven because he had not been baptized. Through her sacrifice, faith and love for her Savior, Mischelle became an example to her family and led them to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Although she did not live an easy life, she did her best to raise her seven children and did it largely on her own. Mischelle may not have had much in terms of possessions, but what she did have, she gave freely and lovingly to all those around her. Mischelle was a kind soul that became known as “Mama Mischelle” to many throughout her beautiful life. She loved to be surrounded by her family and loved cooking for them even more.

Mischelle was welcomed home by her son Larry Scott Campo, her granddaughter Courtney Tait Wind and her beloved mother Nena. She is survived by her 6 children, 26 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She will be laid to rest at San Tan Memorial Gardens on February 25th, 2022 during a private ceremony with her immediate family.
