Jason Christopher Burns
Jason Christopher Burns of Scottsdale AZ passed away tragically the morning of February 18th. Born October 11th 1971 in Mesa AZ to the late Candice Sherrill and Tony Burns, Jason spent most of his life in the Valley of the Sun. In 1993 Jason joined the Navy and served as a Hull Maintenance Technician with the designation of Diver Second Class. His military decorations include Diver Second Class Breast Insignia, Navy Battle “E” Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation and the National Defense Service Metal. Jason made the best of his military opportunities and loved every second of his travels collecting a multitude of stories to entertain family and friends back home. After he was honorably discharged, he spent most of his professional career as a Landscape Designer and Project Manager where he created some truly beautiful outdoor environments leaving his mark and creativity sprinkled all over the valley.
Jason is survived by his daughters Kellyn Lacey and Abigail Rae Ann Burns, his siblings Jared Burns (Michelle), Billy Gilbert (Amanda), Jill Rew (John), Michael Gilbert and his bonus mom Susan Zahel (Mark) as well as a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Jason will be remembered best for his quick wit, his kind heart and his wonderful stories. His gentle nature made everyone he crossed paths with immediately comfortable. He had a way of making you feel good about yourself with even the smallest of conversations and if you needed more, he was always happy to stay and chat. His sense of humor and warmth were the very best things about him. He is dearly loved by all that knew him and will forever be missed. Services will be announced at a later date.
