Claud Eldred Cluff

Claud Eldred Cluff, born February 2, 1959 in Page, Arizona, died August 23, 2022 in Mesa, Arizona. His huge kind heart that made him so loveable and willing to do anything for anyone just stopped beating. He was the first son and the sixth of eight children born to Eldred and Thora Cluff. He graduated from Westwood High School and the University of Arizona. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Virginia. He spent many years working the lights for the annual Easter Pageant on the Mesa Temple Grounds. He recently retired as a Park Landscape Supervisor for the City of Chandler. He also taught night classes at Mesa Community College in the agricultural department. He earned the Silver Beaver Award for his exceptional character and many years of distinguished service in the Boy Scout Program, coordinating and approving Eagle Scout Projects and working with the Varsity Scout Mountain Man Rendezvous Program. He served on the Maricopa Stake High Council and various other positions in his church. He married Penny Dodge in 1984. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. In his spare time he turned out beautiful wooden items on his lathe. He is survived by his wife Penny, daughters, Rose, and Iris (Scott) Lewis, and three grandsons, Riley Stuckey and Darien and Thor Lewis; sisters, Beth (Norris) Phelps, Lynette (Raj) Kohli, Peggy (Wynn) Caffall, Vicky (Paul) Roundy, Della, and Penny (Ben) McLaughlin and his brother David (Shelly) Cluff, and borrowed sister Kathy (Blaine) Waddoups.

We all know that Claud liked flowers, but with the exception of one special Rose and Iris, he loved trees and the Boy Scouts more. In lieu of flowers consider donating to the following charities in Claud's memory.
