Cheryl Lloyd
Cheryl Lucille Lloyd was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on February 11, 1946 to Orville and Lucille Albertson, she was the sixth of eleven children. Cheryl met her husband, Roger Lloyd, while working at the potato harvest. They married on June 7, 1968 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho temple and and moved to Mesa, Arizona, where they raised their five children and spent nearly 53 years together before Roger’s passing in 2020.
Cheryl passed away peacefully in memory care on December 15, 2023. Graveside services will be held at the Mesa cemetery on December 26th, 2023.
Cheryl worked as an administrative assistant for many years including the law and finance departments at Motorola for 25 years before retiring. Cheryl was very talented and enjoyed sewing and homemaking, making her home a welcoming place for family and friends. She had a beautiful voice and sang in her brothers’ band in her younger years.
Cheryl loved having family gatherings and sharing goodies with her grandkids. She enjoyed holiday baking with her daughters and had a generous spirit, always ready to help others. Cheryl’s love language was acts of service. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she was gifted at bringing that Christmas spirit to her home and to others.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband Roger, son Travis, her parents, sisters Arlene, Janice, Patricia, and brother Rex. She is survived by her siblings Judi, Sandi, Mechelle, Wesley, Lyle, and Kortney, along with her children Kim, Wade, Deena, and Ryan, as well as 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
As we say our goodbyes, let's remember Cheryl for the love she shared and the joys she brought into our lives. One of her favorite movies had the words from Jimmy Durante in a song: Make someone happy, just one someone happy, and you will be happy, too.
