Brenda Reynolds
Brenda Jo (Brown) Reynolds was born on June 29, 1948 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, the daughter of Joyce Onner Brown and Keith Clarence Brown. She and her family later moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where she met her future husband, Roy Lavell Reynolds, while attending Grand Junction Highschool. They were married on May 10, 1980.
Over the years she lived throughout Colorado and Idaho, and finally settled in Mesa, Arizona, with her husband. She had a life-long love of art, working to share that passion with others as a teacher's aide, in art gallery sales, and in her final job before retirement as an elementary art teacher at Imagine Schools and Avalon Charter School.
She loved her family, her dogs, mystery novels, attending plays and exhibits at Phoenix's many wonderful museums and theaters, and working with children to help them see the joy and the color she saw in the world. She was funny, warm, and kind, and found something positive in everyone she met.
Brenda is survived by her husband Roy Reynolds, her only daughter Sarah Mae Reynolds, and a big extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, and nieces who will never forget her beautiful soul or the impact she had on their lives. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as her younger brother Steven Keith Brown.
Cremation has taken place and a "Celebration of Life" is being planned, to be held in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, Brenda's family requests that donations be made in her memory to Hospice of the Valley, which provided amazing kindness and aid in her final days, or the Mesa Arts Center to celebrate and support the local artistic community.
