Lynn Stuart Baker

Lynn Stuart Baker passed on with his wife and children by his side on June 10, 2020 at the age of 78.

Known in business as Stu, he was born in Enid, OK. to Forrest Glenn Baker and Geraldine Barbara Stuart Baker. Both parents proceeded him in death as well as his sister Linda Kaye Baker Cline and brother Douglass Eugene Baker. He is survived by his brother Forrest James Baker of Boise, ID; the love of his life Veronica Irene Misner Baker whom he married in 1966. His two children Forrest Gregory Baker and Keri Lynn Baker Ross, five grandchildren, nine nephews and nieces, and several cousins.

Lynn grew up in Garden City, Kansas surrounded by the Baker aunts and uncles and cousins. He was a proud member of the Garden City DeMolay, worked in his father’s grocery store and attended Emporia College and Wichita State before following his parents to Phoenix and transferring to Arizona State University. He met his wife Roni in January 1964 and they were married 2 ½ years later. They then moved to San Francisco to begin their life together. When they finally decided to start a family of their own, they moved back to Phoenix where both their families were. But on the way, they shared another great adventure of a camping road trip from San Francisco to Niagara Falls; New York City to Key West; Palm Beach to Phoenix. For six months they traversed in a ’67 Mustang Fastback with car top carrier and tent living the wonders of our beautiful America.

Lynn loved fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, reading, his children and grandchildren. As he slipped from this life to the other, his daughter said she imagined him sitting on the dock of the bay tossing his line in the water. Our brown-eyed handsome man was genuinely loved, is sorely missed, and remains in our hearts and minds for ever more.
