David Richard Ludwig

David Richard Ludwig was born on May 22, 1944 and entered into Eternal Glory at 3:50 AM Saturday March 7th, 2020. During his 75 years on this earth, David was blessed with his wife Judith “Jude”, the two knew each other all their lives. They were married for 56 years and God gave them 4 beautiful daughters whom David loved with all of his heart.

David was gifted with the voice of an angel, and was happiest when he was singing praises to his Father. His voice could be heard throughout the Heavens especially declaring Glory to his Lord.

David was the youngest of three children. David was born to Richard and Ruth Ludwig in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, in a little house on Jefferson Avenue. As the youngest, he had many fond memories growing up with his brother Richard and sister Phyllis. David reviled in his childhood memories and shared them with his children and grandchildren whenever the opportunity arose.

Jude was the love of David’s life and the two were married on June 8th, 1963.

They were blessed with their 4 girls Kim, Dawn, Diane and Lisa, who were the apple of their father’s eye. The girls grew up knowing they could do anything a boy could do and he reminded them he would never trade his girls for all the money in the world. David felt most fulfilled when he was serving others during his 9 year Chaplaincy at Paradise Valley Hospital.

David was blessed with 16 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Jude of Tempe Arizona, his sister Phyllis Rasmussen (Jim) of Tucson Arizona, brother in law Ronald Spalding of Oshkosh Wisconsin, sister in law Christine Esselman of Oshkosh Wisconsin, brother in law William Fauk (Jan) of Oshkosh Wisconsin, Thomas Fauk of Oshkosh Wisconsin, his daughters Kim Schroeder (Jim) of Oshkosh Wisconsin, Dawn Bassett (Mark) of Scottsdale Arizona, Diane Gallaway (Jefferson) of Scottsdale Arizona, Lisa Lewis (Glenn) of Glendale Arizona. Grandchildren Paul David Schneider (fiancé Alicia), Matthew Schneider (fiancé Kimberly), Mallory Schneider Birschbach (Ryan), Elysha Ludwig, Darsha Cicoria (Mark), Nathan Mays (Maggie), Noah Bassett, Desiree Ruiz (Jose), Mason Gallaway (Alexa), Matthias Lewis, Gabriel Lewis, Khallee Lewis, Jarita Lewis, Kaleah Lewis, Drem Lewis. Great- Grandchildren, Hunter, Savannah, Wyatt, Lily, Lucas, Oliver, Karrina, Caspian, Tytan, Zariyah, Sequoia, Janiyah, Ivyanah, Malachi, Lerae, Lathen and Nolan. He is also survived by many, nieces, nephews, and others who called him Dad and grandpa. He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Ruth, his in laws Alvin and Jane Fauk, his brother and sister in law Richard and Sue Ludwig, sister in law Cheryl Spalding, brother in law Charles Esselman, and sister in law Pat Fauk, grandchildren Keane Lewis and great grandchildren baby Schneider and Baby Cicoria.
