Michael John Kelley

Michael John Kelley, 68, passed away on February 28th, 2020 in Mesa, Arizona after a courageous battle with cancer with his loving and devoted wife by his side. He was born on November 10th, 1951 in Ogdensburg, NY. He lived most of his life in Plattsburgh, New York where he was a dedicated public servant as a University Police Officer, as well as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. The city of Mesa recognized his service as a veteran, EMT, police officer, and firefighter. He was the first to be honored for all four areas of service.

Mike was a man known as a humble man who helped many people, both strangers and close family. He was loved and respected due to his strong character and personal integrity. He worked hard to provide for his family, and supported his children in many endeavors. He spoke his mind and was a keen judge of character. He cared deeply for his wife of 48 years, Rose Kelley, with whom he raised three children and was fortunate to travel extensively after their retirement in 2010. His grandchildren were a great source of joy and pride.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, Orseam Kelley, mother Mary Theresa Farrell, and sister Barbara Anne LaVancha. He is survived by his wife Rose Kelley, daughter Pam Kelley and husband Foster McCarty III, grandson Joshua Kelley-McCarty, daughter Michelle Warren and husband Steve Warren, grandson Bradly Warren, son Jason Kelley. He is survived by his adoptive Mother and Father Patricia and Roland Geary, as well as many extended and adopted family members.

Catholic Mass and his life celebration will be this summer in Plattsburgh, NY at a venue and time to be determined.
