Wenton Daniel "Dino" Baskerville Sr.


Wenton Daniel Baskerville, Sr. was born on April 30, 1942 to the late Richard Franklyn Baskerville and the late Susan (Susie) Baskerville. He was the beloved stepson to Dickie. He departed from this life on November 26, 2018. He was the beloved husband to the late Karen Ann Baskerville (1983) and father to the late Edward Nolan Baskerville (2017). He leaves to mourn his beloved son Wenton Daniel Baskerville, Jr. (Crystal) and beloved daughter, Phyllis Evangeline Lewis (Joseph). Beloved brother to the late George, Johnny and Richard Baskerville. Dino was grandfather to three grandsons, (Kendall, Anthony and Keith), seven granddaughters (Jasmine, Erica, Karen, Brandi, Sherise, Summa and Kayla. He was great-grandfather to Egypt Aaliyah and Madison. He was Godfather to Christian and best friend to Juan Avila He was tenderly cared for in his final days by Ms. Leatha. He will be missed by a host of relatives, friends, faith community and his Angelus Temple family.

Dino was educated by the Jersey City, NJ Public Schools. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Upon his return, he married the love of his life Karen in August 1966. He was a postal worker for several years before he moved to California in the mid-1980s where he settled and made the west coast his home. He worked as a Security Officer for 30 years with the Los Angeles Power and Water Company. He recently retired on December 1, 2017 at the tender age of 75.

Dino devoted his life to preaching the gospel of the Lord to anyone who would listen. He loved the Lord. He spent his leisure time with friends and faith family. He loved the movies and would be at the theatre to catch whatever was featured on the first weekend if he could. Did I mention that he love the Lord? J His Christian faith guided his steps and he strived to have everything be pleasing to God.

Services for Wenton (Dino) will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Dream Center Chapel, 2301 Bellvue Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90026 from 1pm to 3pm.

The family would like to thank you all for your prayers, thoughts, words and deeds during this heart wrenching process of putting our dad to rest. May God bless you all! Wenton and Phyllis
