August (Gus, Augie) James Hamm

On June 27, 2018 at 11:11 A.M. August James Hamm, 42 years old, our sweet soul, decided it was time to go. He fought long and hard for almost 24 years being a quadriplegic from a tragic car accident in Virginia City Highlands, NV., when he was just 18 years old. He touched so many lives and everyone who knew him was a better person for it. He was surrounded by family and loved ones, at his home, with love and a beautiful setting. We were all blessed to have him in our lives for as long as we did. He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Cooper, his dad, Michael Cooper, his father James August Hamm, sisters Roseann Hamm and Romye Teague-Bennett, and many, many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends who all love him deeply. He will be so missed by all. We know he is no longer in pain, no more suffering and walking and running in heaven. There will be a CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE on July 14, 2018 at his home. Donations are being accepted and will be forwarded to CRAIG HOSPITAL in his name, where he went for his spinal cord injury rehab.
