Kathryn Louise (Montie) Steckelberg

Kathryn Louise (Montie) Steckelberg, age 80, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018, at Dobson Home, Hospice of the Valley, Chandler, Arizona. Kay was born on June 11, 1937, in Madison, Wisconsin, the only child of Harry and Florence (Brown) Montie. On September 7, 1957, she married Richard Allen Steckelberg at Grace Episcopal Church in Madison. In 2017, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with close friends in Mesa.

Kay graduated with a degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was a Title 1 reading teacher at Lowell Elementary School in Madison, retiring in 1995. After both Kay and Dick retired from the Madison school system, they moved to Mesa, Arizona.

Kay was active in the American Association of University Women. She enjoyed playing bridge and getting together with friends.

Kay is survived by her husband, Dick, and their two daughters, Kathy Steckelberg and Lynn Khadiagala. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial celebrations of Kay’s life will be held in Mesa and Madison.
