Marie Yeager


Marie “Oma” Yeager passed away in her home in Phoenix, Arizona on December 7, 2017, at the age of 99. Marie is predeceased by her husband George Yeager and son Karlheinz Adam.

Born in Bayreuth, Germany, on October 22, 1918, Marie was the 2nd oldest daughter of 8 children born to Johann and Barbara Engelhardt. Marie married her 1st husband in 1939 and was blessed with 2 children. Her husband was killed in WWII in 1943 and her daughter died a couple years later.

Marie meet her 2nd husband, George Yeager, an American soldier, and moved to the United States in 1953. She loved living in the United States. With her husband being in the service, Marie and George lived in several locations but retired to Phoenix, Arizona in 1977 where they purchased their dream home.

Marie was a seamstress and an excellent cook. She loved to sing, dance, enjoyed her Sunday coffee clutch’s and loved talking about her family, friends and her homeland Germany.

After her husband George passed away, her great-granddaughter, Bridget Adam, moved in with Marie and helped keep her company and become her caregiver.

Marie is survived by her 2 sisters: Louise Kelly of Leavenworth, KS and Hilde Buckley of Killeen, TX; daughter-in-law: Christine Adam; 3 grandchildren: Debbie Glenn, Marie Adam and Lisa Bulfin; 11 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren and the remainder of her relatives.

There will be a private graveside service held for Marie with her immediate family.
