Nellie Munroe

Nellie Eda Munroe (Ellsworth) left this world on Friday September 29, 2017 in Gilbert, AZ. She was 76.

Nellie was born on September 1, 1941 in Haverhill, NH to her parents, Arthur and Gladys Ellsworth. She graduated from Haverhill Academy and High School in Haverhill, NH in 1959. She married James Arthur Munroe on October 19, 1968 in Piermont, NH after taking care of him as a patient at the Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield, NH. Nellie relocated to Mesa, AZ from Dover, NH in 1976.

Nellie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and John Ostermeier of San Tan Valley, AZ; her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Rebecca Munroe of Phoenix, AZ; step-son and daughter-in-law Brian and Clara Munroe of Buckeye, AZ; step-son and daughter-in-law Russell and Linda Munroe of Williams, AZ; brother and sister-in-law, John and Ella Ellsworth of Piermont, NH; grandchildren, Frank, Xavier, Celeste, Shane, Andrew, Skylar, Chloe, Grace and James; great grandchildren, Scarlett and Olivia; She is preceded in death by her ex-husband James and step-son David.

Nellie was a hard working “farm girl” that loved her family, friends, animals, and lighthouses with her favorite being the Cape Neddick Light “Nubble” in York, ME.
