Clayton Kenneth Baker was born August 8th, 1939 in Mason City Iowa. He went to be with the Lord on 8/19/17 at his home in Gilbert, AZ after a lengthy battle with leukemia. Clayton is survived by his wonderful wife Lynda F. Baker, four children Lance Baker (Barbie), Leland Baker, Brian Baker (Melissa), Rhonda Fike (Kevin), two brothers Dave Baker (Sandy), Mike Baker (Debbie), two sisters Jackie Sargent, Linda Houston (Tom), and nine grandchildren Amanda Baker, Dalton Baker, Bridgett Baker, Preston Baker, Ashleigh Baker, Abby Baker, Kason Fike, Kalvin Fike, Khloe Fike.

Clayton grew up on a small farm in Forest City Iowa. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and was a highly skilled carpenter. He moved to Arizona in 1960 following his family to the state. Clayton served in the US Army and was awarded numerous sharpshooting medals. Clayton worked as a HVAC Facilities Maintenance supervisor for Motorola before retiring in 1998 after 34 years.

All those who knew Clayton were touched by his kind generosity and willingness to always help others. It was often said about Clayton that he would “give the shirt off his back” for others, expecting nothing in return. He touched many lives with his giving demeanor, and his spirit of loving generosity will live on with them.

A celebration of Clayton’s life is open to all family and friends and will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday 8/25/17 at the First Southern Baptist Church of Mesa, 851 N. Stapley, Mesa. A reception will follow the service at Cypress Estates clubhouse, 3330 E. Main St, Mesa.
