Riley Goodfellow

Riley Warner Goodfellow Jr., after a seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s, passed away peacefully at his home on January 1, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Riley was born on February 27,1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah to his parents Melba Ballard and Riley Warner Goodfellow Sr. He was the oldest of five children and spent his childhood in Bountiful, Utah. He met the love of his life, Anna Mae Clifford, during his junior year of high school and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on March 18, 1966. They have been very happily married for over 50 years. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Western States mission, which included Colorado, New Mexico, parts of Utah and Nevada. Riley graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Riley was a successful, hard working, industrious and innovative engineer. He had a successful career at several prominent semiconductor companies. Riley served in many church positions, but his love was serving with the young men in the Boy Scouts of America.

He is survived by his wife Anna Mae Clifford, five children Ryan (Nicolle), Matt (Sonya), Brad (Mariann), Christy (Ryan Cook), and Amber (Doug Edmunds) and the joy of his life, 18 beautiful grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Scott (Karen), Nancy (Perry Olsen), Brian (Claudia) and Julie (Vic Day).

Riley was a loving husband, devoted father, and fun grandfather. He lived his life with fun, mischief and was always looking for the next adventure. He worked hard and played harder with his family and we will miss him dearly. Thanks goes to the caregivers and friends at the Summit, the loving care of Hospice at Home and family who have given Riley the best of care.
