It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Muriel Gudewich on April 8, 2026, after a prolonged illness.
Muriel was born on November 27,1939 to the late Gaetano and Filomena Gesualdo. She grew up in Revere Massachusetts and met her lifelong soulmate, Charles. Charles (Kaz) and Muriel met in high school and married in 1960 and moved to Wakefield, Massachusetts. They lived there until they retired to Gold Canyon, Arizona in 2001.
Muriel was a bookkeeper for some years but was happiest tending to her home and cooking. She loved entertaining her friends and family. From countless holidays, get togethers and card games you were always welcome at her house, and treated as family. She was a true friend, great listener and perfect role model for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she adored.
Muriel is survived by her husband, Kaz of 66 years residing in Gold Canyon, Arizona, brother and sister-in-law Richard and Pam Gesualdo of North Reading, Massachusetts and brother-in-law Vincent Gudewich of Marietta, California and the late Angela Gudewich.
Muriel is survived by three children Charles and his wife, Rosemary Gudewich of Lowell, Massachusetts, Kenneth and his wife, Mary Gudewich of Gilbert, Arizona and Valerie and her husband Ralph Francesconi of Georgetown, Massachusetts.
Her grandchildren were her greatest joy and they include-- Michael Gudewich and his wife Caitlin, Jacqueline Lewis and her husband Kevin, Bryan Gudewich and his girlfriend Loretta Cedrone, Samantha Quinn and her husband Bryan, Steven Gudewich and his wife Natalie, Ralph Francesconi and his wife, Michelle. She was blessed with five great grandchildren --Avery, Cecilia, Riley, Charles and Kendall. There is also a great grandson blessing on the way. Muriel was also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Whether you were in Massachusetts or Arizona you were always welcomed into her home where you were served a great meal and became part of her family.
A Celebration of Life service will be determined at a later date.
