Christopher Herko, 70, passed away on April 26, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Born on May 1, 1954, in Queens, New York, Christopher was the son of Waldzia Swietek Herko and the late Nicholas Herko. He spent his formative years in New Jersey and attended the Dwight-Englewood School for Boys for high school. He later earned his bachelor's degree from Gettysburg College, laying the foundation for a successful professional life.
Christopher built a career in sales. He retired from Zions National Real Estate in 2014, where he did SBA 504 wholesale lending. His work reflected a commitment to excellence and professionalism that left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Ashley Mapes (Matthew Mapes) and Kara Bull (Mathew Bull), and his cherished grandchildren Michael Bull, Gabriel Bull, Noah Bull, and Anna Bull. Christopher also leaves behind his mother Waldzia Herko; his brother Mark Herko; his sister Danusia Herko (Ted Frank); and his niece and nephew, Mila Frank and Nicholas Frank.
He was preceded in death by his father Nicholas Herko and his son Justin Herko.
Outside of work and family life, Christopher found great joy in golf, deep sea fishing, reading and most of all barbequing. He loved hosting big parties. Chris was famous for his annual Super Bowl Party, Summer BBQ Bash and his Annual Golf Tournament. His golf tourney was and still is known as the best banker golf tournament in Phoenix.
A funeral service will be held in Englewood, New Jersey at St. Cecilia Church within the next week.
