Barbara Alice Romney Criswell, age 86, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025.
She is survived by her beloved daughters Kim (Duanne) Weierman and Sunny (Ken) Fischer; her sister, Beverly Palmer; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Duanne Criswell, her son Miles Allen, and grandson Colter Weierman.
Barbara was a strong, independent woman who never met a challenge she couldn't organize and overcome. She worked alongside her family in the Romney Produce Company, contributing in every role from the potato room to the front office. Later, she and her ex-husband built and ran Allen’s Western Wear and gas station from the ground up.
Her career continued in the legal field, where she dedicated over 35 years as a district judge’s secretary, juvenile probation secretary, and finally as a legal secretary at the Udall Shumway Law Firm. Barbara’s incredible work ethic and commitment left lasting impressions everywhere she served.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barbara held many callings and found joy in sharing her strong testimony. She welcomed any opportunity to discuss the gospel with anyone willing to chat.
Services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025
at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Interment to follow at Mesa Cemetery.
Barbara’s legacy of faith, resilience, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
