Genevieve Veronica Allen Foley


Genevieve Veronica Allen Foley was born on March 14, 1937, on a farm in Cresson Pennsylvania. She was the seventh of eight children who survived childbirth.


Her six older siblings all predeceased her – Mary, Helen, Rose, Josephine, Andy, and Walter. Her younger brother, Joe, and his wife Jan reside in Plymouth, Indiana.


After graduating from Cresson High School, she moved to Chicago and worked as a secretary at Prudential Insurance, and eventually as an executive secretary at IBM.


Jeanne married Paul Fredrick Allen in 1965 and enjoyed being married to him for 52 years. They raised eight children. Although Jeanne worked outside the home a few times, she was a homemaker for most of her married life.


She joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in June of 1973 and has been an active, faithful member for the rest of her life. She has served as the Nursery Leader, Young Women Leader and Advisor, Ward Newsletter Editor, Relief Society President, Counselor, and Teacher, and Stake Unwed Mother Advisor.


Paul died in 2017, and in 2019, Jeanne married W. David Foley, an old friend she had known since 1972. She is survived by her children – Terry, Steve, Paul, Ken, Diane, Laura, and David. Their first child, JoJean Allen died in 2002.


Jeanne and her husband, Dave, moved to Mesa from their homes in Waterford, Michigan after their marriage in 2019.


Viewings will be held in the Power Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, at 1430 N. Recker Road, Mesa, AZ 85205 on Thursday evening, April 20 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.


A second viewing will be held in the same building on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.


The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Power Ward building from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m..


Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
