Kenneth A. Mester

On Tuesday, September 8, 2020, Kenneth A. Mester, loving husband, father of two children, and five grandchildren passed away at the age of 68 years old. Ken was born on July 4, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois to Harvey and Marianne (Alber) Mester. He was a long term truck driver and for a period of time owned his own trucking business. On March 5, 1983, he married the love of his life Deborah A. (Ehrhart) Mester. They raised two children Kerrie A. (Stephen) Manak and Kyle A.E. (Kyla Baker) Mester.

Dearest grandfather of SJ Manak, Logan Manak, Kacen Baker-Mester, Cecilia Manak, and Hunter Mester. Dear brother of Barbara M. (the late Dr. Casimir) Firlit and Stephanie J. (Frank) Pisterzi. Brother-in-law of Pamela M. (the late Keith L.) Pasch. Dear Uncle of Rebecca Firlit, Nicole (Scott) Palencia, Collin (Katherine) Pasch, and Iain Pasch. Dear nephew, cousin, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Marianne, his in-laws Paul and DoraLee, and his niece Danielle Marie Pisterzi.

Ken had a great love and respect for the outdoors and enjoyed camping. He was a longtime member of the DuPage Drifters Camping Club of Naperville, Illinois where he was lovingly known as “Mr. Delight.” He had a strong love for family, especially his grandchildren. He was the best kind of friend with a great sense of humor and respect for everyone. A gentle giant who always had a smile on his face regardless of what was dealt his way. We will always cherish the memories made by family and friends. May he walk freely with sight to celebrate all the beauty that he sees while watching down and protecting his family.

A celebration of Ken’s life will be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are preferred.
