Mary Jo Eggert


Mary Jo Eggert, 66, died Saturday, September 28, 2019, at the Banner Desert Medical Center, Mesa, AZ.

Born March 8, 1953, in Sheboygan, WI, she was the daughter of the late Faith and William Graefe.

In addition to her husband, Scott Sheck, Mary Jo is survived by her brother, Alan Graefe, of State College, PA, one niece, Rachel Lindsey Graefe-Anderson and her husband, Alexander, of Richmond, VA, two nephews, David Alan Graefe and his wife, Jamaica Groeneveld, of Lock Haven, PA, and Beck Eliot Graefe and his dear friends Andrew Porter and Allan Gyorke, of Miami, FL; one grandnephew, Leopold David Graefe, and first cousins, Rob Vander Schaaf and his wife, Lynn, of Sheboygan Falls, WI, Dona Wininsky and her husband Reese, of Milwaukee, WI, Jim Vander Schaaf and his wife Mary Beth, of Grosse Pointe, MI, Karin Vander Schaaf of Watertown, MA, Betsy Vander Schaaf and her husband, Michael Young, of Jasper, OR, Steve Vander Schaaf and his wife Fran, of Vista, CA, Mary Clare Vander Schaaf of San Marcos, CA, and Clair Vander Schaaf and his wife, Donna, of Murfreesboro, TN.

Mary graduated from Kohler High School in 1971 and served in the US Army in 1975-76 at Fort Polk, LA, working in the motor pool. In 1979 she received her bachelors degree in sociology from Lakeland College. She worked for Sheboygan County Social Services, the Sheboygan Public School District, and at FedEx as a dispatcher and driver.

While living in Arizona, Mary worked for the Tri-City Veterinary Clinic. She deeply loved dogs and cats and rock music, especially Bruce Springsteen and Blue Oyster Cult.

Arrangements are under the care of Horizon Funeral Care, Mesa, AZ. If friends so desire memorial contributions to defray medical and final expenses may be made in Mary’s memory to Scott Sheck, 119 S. Hibbert, Mesa, AZ 85210.
