Larry R. Trujillo

Larry’s journey began on September 8, 1951, in El Paso, Texas, the son of the late Cleto and Helen Trujillo. He is third oldest of five siblings; Chris, Connie, and late brothers Martin and George. Traveling with his family as a child Larry learned to appreciate life no matter the hardships and circumstances he faced.

At the young age of 23 Larry accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He immediately became involved in ministry with a passion for those serving time behind bars. He regularly visited nursing homes, the Rescue Mission, and jails and prisons to share the Word of God through the Gospel. Larry served in his home churches as a Sunday School Teacher, Royal Ranger Commander and as a devoted Deacon in Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona under the ministry of many great pastors and now served under the leadership of Pastor Isiah Claytor.

40 years ago in May of 1978 Larry found his treasure when he met the love of his life, Nancy Torres, who had been widowed for 6 years. They wed the same year on July 29, 1978 in Colorado Springs at the Assembly of God church. Larry was a loyal husband, and dedicated father who put his family first and legally adopted Julian and Denece. He accepted and treated them as his own, loving them unconditionally and raising them to follow in the ways of the Lord as they grew up and began their adult lives. His family was his heart

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, his oldest brother Martin and younger brother George.

Larry leaves behind his wife Nancy, son Julian (Sue), daughter Denece. Larry also enjoyed to the fullest the blessing of his grandsons Rocco and Justin (Jennie) who was more like a son, and two great grandchildren, Noah and Levi Trujillo. He also enjoyed time with a special niece that was more like a granddaughter Adriana Torres. His grandchildren gave him great joy, and he became known as “Pampi” to all of them. Larry also leaves behind his brother Chris (Josefina) Trujillo, his sister Connie (Greg) Arreola, and his mother in law Sophia Muller, three brother in laws, Michael, Herman, and Leroy (Mili) Torres and many nephews and nieces.

Celebration of Life Service for Larry will be Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00 am at Rock City Church International located at 3820 E. Main St #11 Mesa AZ 85205.
