Sean Walton Tanner


Sean Walton Tanner, beloved son of William and Phyllis Tanner, passed away February 14th at his home in Forest Lakes, Arizona. He is survived by his parents William and Phyllis Tanner, his daughter Bailee Tanner, and his siblings Nadine McBride, Brian Tanner, Brent Tanner, Curtis Tanner, and Kathi Susan Verdugo. Sean was born in Phoenix, AZ on May 6th, 1966. He grew up in Gilbert, AZ where he graduated from Gilbert High School. He attended Mesa Community College and then Eastern Arizona College for two years before serving a mission in Texas for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Upon returning from his mission he worked for Motorola as a technician. In 2006 he moved to Texas and worked in construction. He then moved back to Arizona and worked for the city of Payson and Navajo county for many years as a building inspector. He resided in northern Arizona until his death. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the woods and one of his greatest joys was riding his ATV on mountain trails. He completely renovated the home he was living in and loved the area and his neighbors. He was a friend to all and loved to help others.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 24th at 9:00 AM followed by the funeral services at 10:00 AM. The services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse located at 234 N. Greenfield Rd., Gilbert, AZ 85234. Funeral arrangements are provided by Horizon Funeral Care.
