Donald A. Zach 70

Of Ham Lake, MN and Mesa, Arizona passed away on February 9th, 2018 in Arizona. He was born August 30th, 1947 in Breckenridge, MN. He was the son of late Andy and Iona Zach.

Don is preceded in death by an infant sister Maryann, Grandparents, several Aunts and Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and classmates.

Don grew up in Rosholt, SD and graduated in 1965. At a young age he worked with his dad and brothers doing construction work.

Don married Dianne Raftevold of Wahpeton, ND on February 24th, 1968 and they lived in Minneapolis, MN where they both had jobs.

Don is survived by his children Tim, Staci (Halverson) and a granddaughter Emilee (Halverson). Brothers Robert, Gene (Sue) and sister Dianne (Koenig). Don had many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and many friends and family members who loved him and will miss him dearly.

Don’s profession as a Journeyman Carpenter gave him his perfectionist ways in all projects he did. He loved working with wood and remodeling and building things. He loved all sports indoors and out and loved to fish. Friends and family looked forward to getting a jar of pickled fish at the end of camping season.

Don enjoyed being retired for 10 years and being able to winter in AZ in a retirement park where he was the activity director of the Shuffle Board activity for 5 years. Don was a friend to many and a big jokester all his life. Always had a smile on his face and a laugh that will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life is going to be held for family and friends on February 24th at the retirement park clubhouse 2p to 5p.
