Jack Querry

March 21, 2016

John (Jack) Marvin Querry was born November 6th, 1935 in Kemmer, Wyoming. Died Feb 2, 2016 in Gilbert, Arizona.  He lived in Wyoming during his childhood, where he and his brother had many escapades. The family then moved to Salt Lake City.  He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Samoa.  He attended University or Utah where he met Joanne Savage.  They were married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple and were married for over 40 years, before JoAnne passed away. He attended and graduated from BYU with his master’s degree in teaching. He began his teaching career in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He and Joanne returned to Utah and he taught at Kearns High School until he retired. They lived most of their lives in Hunter, Utah. After his retirement they moved to Waterville, Kansas, where he said, he "returned to his roots", both his parents were from Kansas. They adopted two children, Scott and Janae. Jack held many callings in the LDS church and was always an active member of the church his entire life; he definitely “endured to the end.” Jack was the doer and keeper of the family’s genealogy. He is preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne, parents and older brother, Charles Lee, and many extended family that would be there to greet him when he passed from this mortal life.  He is survived by two children, his sister & brother-in-law, Jane & Tony Coakley, sister-in-law, Jean Querry, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 31 nieces & nephews, and his always faithful friends, Ralph and LeRoy. A memorial service will be held in Utah in March.
